Flannel Song: Weather
Song (tune of Clementine):
What's the weather, what's the weather
What's the weather like today?
Is it sunny, is it windy,
is it rainy out today?
Flannel Story: Pete the Cat and his 4 Candy Buttons
Based on Miss Sarah's Storytime's Ginger Pete
It was almost Valentine's day. Pete decided to dress up for the occasion by wearing his four candy buttons. Pete loved the candy buttons so much that he started singing:
My buttons, my buttons,
I love my candy buttons!
But, those buttons looked so tasty. And, I really love candy...so...I ate one!
Did Pete cry? Goodness no! Candy buttons come and candy buttons go. How many buttons did Pete have left? Three! But, I'm still kind of hungry and those buttons look SOOOO tasty, I'll just eat one more.
And so the story will go. Once all the buttons on the shirt are gone, I remind the kids that Pete still has one button left... and if they know the original story they'll know it's his BELLY BUTTON! So I lift Pete's shirt and show his belly button and we sing:
My button, my button,
Still have my belly button.
Flannel Activity: Clifford’s Bone
“Clifford, Clifford, where is your bone? Did someone put it in your [green] home?”

Flannel Activity: Where’s Wiggleworm?
Another fun guessing activity. I hide the worm and the kids guess which book he's in.
Wiggle worm, wiggle worm,
hiding in a book.
Wiggle worm, wiggle worm,
where should we look?
